Carol Davis-Smith, Chair of AAMI’s Technology Management Council (TMC), delivered a keynote presentation at a recent California Medical Instrumentation Association (CMIA) event addressing future directions of the clinical engineering profession. The slides from the presentation are available here.

The presentation identifies several important changes to the healthcare landscape that will be felt in coming years, and are being felt now. An important theme from the presentation is that biomeds and clinical engineers need to become more aware of the changes taking place, and to adapt to them.
