New Resource Helps Connect Speakers to Societies, Hospitals
A new online AAMI resource has been developed to help state and local biomedical societies, hospitals, and other organizations identify experts to speak at meetings and other events around the country.
AAMIs Online Speaker Clearing House is designed to help organizations plan their educational offerings at the local and state level. The clearinghouse lists speakers by area of expertise, alphabetically, and by geographic area.
The clearing house is a new benefit developed by AAMIs Technology Management Council (TMC) as a way of providing educational support to local biomedical societies and other healthcare professionals in the field.
This is a terrific resource that helps identify experts who are ready and willing to share their knowledge, which will help local groups to expand offerings and benefits to their members, says David Francoeur, CBET, vice president of service operations at TriMedx Healthcare Equipment Services and a member of TMCs Executive Committee.
Speakers include past AAMI Annual Conference presenters, exhibitors, and individuals who have expressed an interest in speaking to local groups. They are willing to speak without receiving an honorarium, although some may request reimbursement for travel.
The speakers have expertise in areas such as business management, calibration, customer relations, imaging, indoor positioning systems, information technology, the Joint Commission (JCAHO), medical lasers, patient safety, software development, technical operations, ultrasound, and several other subject areas.
