Summit on Healthcare Technology in
You are invited to play an active role in improving the safety and effectiveness of medical technologies used in homes and other nonclinical settings, by participating in the Summit on Healthcare Technology in Nonclinical Settings, October 9-10, at the Hyatt Dulles in Herndon, VA.
Healthcare technology no longer is limited to just hospitals. Increasingly, it is moving into homes and other nonclinical locations—making it possible to reduce hospital costs and increase patient comfort and convenience. However, there are risks and challenges to consider as this technology is placed in nonclinical environments, in the hands of individuals who are not medical professionals. This summit will address some of those risks and challenges.
Who Will Participate
This event will bring together leaders from the medical device industry and regulatory bodies, clinicians from healthcare institutions, researchers, and others to identify, discuss, and formulate strategic initiatives and priorities focused on ensuring the safety and effectiveness of medical technology in nonclinical settings.
Your input is essential to this effort. Extensive time will be dedicated to attendee participation and interaction. The summit agenda will include a series of carefully identified discussion topics and will be professionally moderated to ensure that the following goals are achieved:
- To provide a forum for open discussion on the major issues surrounding the use of medical devices in the home and in other nonclinical settings.
- To gain consensus on priorities for action to improve the safety and effectiveness of these devices.
- To set action plans and identify immediate next steps for addressing the issues.
Don't miss this opportunity to join with your colleagues from hospitals, industry, academia, and government to address these important issues and ultimately to improve patient safety and device performance.
