| Biography | Dr. Carrasco is a former tenured professor of surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine with 25+ years of healthcare experience, including working as an academic educator, research scientist, surgeon and hospital clinic administrator. He offers a unique hospital perspective from his deep involvement with co-developing innovative medical device and imaging technology, designing computerized planning tools, hospital software and IT infrastructure, and implementing new patient care delivery systems. He has presented educational sessions at AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation), the Virginia Biomedical Association annual conference, SensorWorld and the Society for Health Systems annual conference.
