Human Factors Horizons— Deadline extended to March 15! Human factors engineering is concerned with understanding the interactions among humans and other elements of a system. How can the principles of human factors be used to improve the design, use, and management of medical devices? How can we reduce medical errors and increase patient safety by improving the interface between health care practitioners and medical technology? Articles on all topics related to human factors and medical technology are invited. |

AAMI’s award-winning Horizons publications, mailed twice each year to AAMI members, provide
in-depth, practical articles on specific topics such as information technology, sterilization, dialysis, and the future
of medical technology. In 2010, AAMI will develop and publish two editions of Horizons focused on the issues of
rapidly-increasing importance: home healthcare and human factors.
