Mechanics

  • Ad Sizes (Width by Height)
    Full page 8.375 " by 11.125 "

  • Trim Size: Journal trims 1/8" off top, bottom, and outside edge. Final trim size of publication is 8 1/8" x 10 7/8". Live matter should be a minimum of 1/2" inside trimmed edges, and a minimum of 1/2" should be allowed for the bind.
  • Binding: Perfect
  • Paperstock: Inside Pages, 60# gloss; Covers, 100# gloss text.
  • Insert Requirements: All inserts must be furnished printed, folded, ready for binding. Inserts must be folded to 8 3/4" by 11 1/8". Folded inserts will be placed between signatures.
  • Half-tone Screens: 133-175 line screens are acceptable.

Electronic Files

  • If you are supplying images on disk, please include a directory of files contained on the disk and a hard copy printout. Supplied hard copy must match the file. Digital color files must be submitted in CMYK mode. Digital color proofs supplied with the file must be output in CMYK.
  • Formats: We accept TIFF or EPS format for both Macintosh and PC platforms. We also Adobe Acrobat (pdf) files. Please use Press settings under job options. Contact Cindy Kang at ckang@aami.org for questions on file formats.
  • Fonts: Include the screen and printer font files for any text. PC or Macintosh versions of Adobe Postscript fonts should be used. Do NOT use True Type fonts, Do NOT use system "bitmap" fonts.
  • Data Transfer: Please e-mail Cindy Kang at ckang@aami.org. Contact Cindy Kang for assistance with files that are too large to e-mail.
  • Compression: Large files should be compressed with Stuffit or WinZip if possible.

General Information

  • Market Coverage: BI&T readers consist of dept. managers, clinical engineers, technicians (56%); developers, researchers (19%); quality systems, regulatory affairs (14%); consultants (5%); and other professionals (6%).
  • Disclaimer: All claims for errors in advertisements must be made in writing and received within ten days of publication and will be considered only for the first insertion of the advertisement containing the error. An error that does not materially affect the value or content of an advertisement will not qualify for a credit, not will any credit be allowed if the customer has seen and approved a proof, or if a proof was not supplied.
  • Acceptance of Advertising: BI&T reserves the right to accept materials and require publication pre-payment. Advertiser agrees to assume all liability for content of ads printed and must be fully authorized for use of the ad's content including, but not limited to, persons' names and pictures, testimonials, and any copyrighted or trademarked material. Advertiser will indemnify and hold the publisher harmless from any loss or expense arising out of an advertisement.
