AAMI Leaders to Take Stage at National HTM Conference
The future of the healthcare technology management (HTM) field is bright—so bright that you’re going to need a pair of shades. That’s the message that AAMI President and CEO Robert Jensen will deliver as the keynote speaker at next month’s MD Expo in Nashville, TN.
Jensen’s April 6 keynote address will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from the HTM industry, and attendees are encouraged to bring questions.
“I’m excited to talk about the developments in our field that are on the horizon, particularly how HTM professionals fit into an increasingly collaborative healthcare environment,” Jensen said. “I look forward to a lively discussion.”
AAMI Technology Management Council Executive Committee member Joseph Dysko will also represent the association at the expo. His interactive session on April 6 will focus on the many ways that standards affect the HTM field and will show how getting involved in standards development can shape the future of health technology.
“Standards have a major impact on the profession, and they play an important role in the growth and accountability of HTM. Standards provide a framework to structure your programs, improve processes, and communicate using a common language,” said Dysko, who is senior director of clinical engineering and capital services at Dignity Health. “Several standards and regulations that are under development will affect HTM departments for years to come—the more people who participate, the more voices we have, the better the standards that will be written, and the faster they can be implemented.”
Attendance at the MD Expo is preapproved for up to 10.5 continuing education units (CEUs) by the AAMI Credentials Institute. AAMI staff members will be on hand at table top #2 in the Expo Hall to provide more information about certification, as well as answer questions about the association’s education, membership, and standards programs.
AAMI members are entitled to a free VIP pass to the MD Expo. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
