CLARICE HOLDEN has been promoted to chief biomedical engineer at the VA North Texas Healthcare System. In this role, she is responsible for managing 18 technicians and engineers, as well as $117 million in medical equipment assets. This department is the largest of its kind in Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 17. Holden is a member of AAMI’s Annual Conference Program Committee and was this year’s recipient of AAMI’s Young Professional Award.


PRIYANKA UPENDRA is now the compliance program director of technology management at Banner Health in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, she leads and develops an integrated compliance and quality program for Banner’s Technology Management Department. This includes traditional regulatory compliance activities for clinical technology management and cybersecurity in addition to developing a formal quality management system. Upendra is a member of AAMI’s Technology Management Council; BI&T Editorial Board; EQ, Nominating, and Awards Committees; and the American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE) Board.
