AAMI Helping with Connectivity Conference

Healthcare facilities face numerous challenges handling connectivity issues. To help them address these problems, AAMI and The Center for Business Innovation (TCBI) are partnering to present the Fifth Annual Medical Device Connectivity Conference & Exhibition.

The conference, scheduled for Nov. 21-22, will focus on connecting healthcare technology with people, workflow, and information systems. Participants will have the chance to attend presentations on the key connectivity challenges, as well as get an update on how government regulations can have an impact on a changing marketplace.

Sessions at previous conferences have focused on cybersecurity, interoperability concerns, and an introduction to wireless spectrum. Past speakers have included Carol Davis-Smith, vice president of clinical technology for Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA, who provided an overview of last fall’s AAMI-U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Medical Device Interoperability Summit.

Consultants, academics, government officials, hospital executives, clinical engineering and information technology staff, and representatives from medical device companies are among those encouraged to attend.

The conference is scheduled to take place at the Hyatt hotel in Herndon, VA, located near Dulles International Airport. AAMI members are eligible to receive a $100 discount on the conference registration fee.
