Request for Proposals to Develop Training on Risk Management of Integrated Systems |
|||
AAMI and the Healthcare Technology Foundation (HTF) are soliciting proposals to develop content for a training program on risk management of integrated systems. Through a needs assessment conducted by AAMI and HTF, training on the processes and methodologies needed to manage risks associated with networks and integrated systems was identified as a crucial need for the healthcare technology management professional—including biomedical equipment technicians, clinical engineers, information technologists, safety officers, and facility managers. The goal of the program is to make these professionals more knowledgeable about the resources and strategies associated with a safe patient care environment while advancing their own professional skills and development. The project entails subject matter experts developing one or more modules on networking and integration; ANSI/AAMI/IEC 80001-1 Risk Management; project and change management; and tools and resources to sustain safe integrated systems related to networked environments. In addition to drafting content, developers will present materials at face-to-face workshops held in late 2013 and 2014 and further expand and adapt content for an online program. All proposals must be received no later than 5:30 p.m. ET on June 14, 2013. Proposals should be mailed to AAMI, c/o Deborah Reuter, 4301 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 301, Arlington, VA 22203, or e-mailed to dreuter@aami.org. The complete RFP and program outline are located online at www.aami.org/news/2013/051313_RMIS_RFP.pdf. AAMI, the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1967. It is a diverse community of nearly 7,000 healthcare technology professionals united by one important mission—supporting the healthcare community in the development, management, and use of safe and effective medical technology. |
