Twenty-four national and local healthcare organizations are joining the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) in celebrating Healthcare Technology Management Week 2013. This annual celebration, which will be held May 19–25, 2013, is designed to raise awareness and show appreciation for the critical work of healthcare technology management professionals, including biomedical equipment technicians, clinical engineers, imaging specialists, laboratory equipment specialists, and others who protect patient safety and reduce healthcare costs. The organizations that have signed on as supporting partners for Healthcare Technology Management Week 2013 include:
“Each year, healthcare organizations join together in supporting this fun, but important celebration,” says AAMI President Mary Logan. “It’s a great time to stop, reflect, and thank the people who manage healthcare technology for their outstanding contributions.” In honor of HTM Week, AAMI will host a free webinar on wireless security and robust wireless networks on Tuesday, May 21, from 12:00–1:30 pm Eastern. To register for the session, simply sign up here. The 90-minute program will feature experts Steve Baker, senior engineer with Welch Allyn, and Phil Raymond, wireless architect with Philips, who will discuss two of the most critical topics now being addressed by AAMI’s new Wireless Task Force. The webinar is one event of a week-long celebration. Each weekday during HTM Week, AAMI and its Technology Management Council (TMC) will hold a special event or recognition. Details on these other events will be announced soon. Information about how hospitals and others can celebrate the week is available on AAMI’s website at http://www.aami.org/meetings/htmweek/. AAMI, the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1967. It is a diverse community of nearly 7,000 healthcare technology professionals united by one important mission—supporting the healthcare community in the development, management, and use of safe and effective medical technology. |
