Certification Commission Seeks Nominations for
New OEM Representative
The leadership of the certification programs for biomedical equipment technicians (CBET), radiology equipment specialists (CRES), and laboratory equipment specialists (CLES) is looking for a senior healthcare technology management professional from an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to serve on the United States Certification Commission (USCC).
Membership on the USCC requires participation in two to four conference calls each year, as well as two in-person meetings held during the AAMI Annual Conference and Expo.
Each member is responsible for his or her own travel expenses for the conference.
The USCC sets the policies of the U.S. certification program for biomedical equipment technicians (BMET) and related professions. The commission also directs and supervises the work of the U.S. BMET Board of Examiners, which develops the exams for the CBET, CRES, and CLES certifications.
Interested individuals can submit a resume with a cover letter describing why they would like to join the program to Iman Hannon at certifications@aami.org. The deadline for submissions is April 30.
