Volunteers Sought for Certification Program

The U.S. BMET Board of Examiners is looking for new members.

Board members have the opportunity to participate in unique assignments that shape the future of the certification program to ensure relevancy with the career field of healthcare technology management (HTM).

The board develops the ICC examinations for certified biomedical equipment technician (CBET), certified radiology equipment specialist (CRES), and certified laboratory equipment specialist (CLES). The board also oversees the certification renewal program, which includes more than 7,000 certified individuals.

The board term is for three years and requires participation in several conference calls each year, as well as attendance at two in-person meetings. Each member is responsible for his own travel expenses to participate in these meetings.

Professionals who are interested in sharing their knowledge and expertise are encouraged to apply. Volunteer positions are not limited to any specific level in the HTM field.

For more information or to submit a resume and cover letter, contact Iman Hannon at ihannon@aami.org. The deadline is March 20, 2013.
