Crothall Buys CREST Services
Wayne, PA-based Crothall Healthcare has bought privately held CREST Services, an independent service organization (ISO) in Coppell, TX, specializing in medical equipment maintenance. The acquisition, which was finalized Dec. 20, 2012, increases Crothall’s reach, as CREST has a large customer base in Texas and the Southwest.
CREST’s offerings include biomedical and imaging equipment maintenance, computed tomography/magnetic resonance services and refurbishing, parts sourcing, and regulatory compliance consultation, its website notes.
“We are excited about adding CREST Services to Crothall’s clinical equipment solutions (CES) operating division,” explains Crothall Healthcare President Steve Carpenter in a prepared statement. “We believe that our cultures align and that the people of CREST Services will become valuable additions to our teams.”
CREST President Brian Montgomery adds that he thinks his employees will be able to grow within Crothall, which is part of UK-based Compass Group PLC. Compass notes in a Feb. 7 interim management statement that it has committed $116.6 million (£77 million) since Sept. 30, 2012 on acquisitions. In the healthcare arena alone, the group has bought CREST Services and the Belcamp, MD, plant of Mayflower Healthcare Textile Services, LLC.
