Deadline Nears for Scholarship Program
In an ongoing effort to find the next generation of healthcare technology management professionals, the AAMI Foundation is accepting applications from students interested in the Michael J. Miller Scholarship Program. Applications must be submitted by March 15.
Each year, the program distributes two $2,500 scholarships—one to a student aspiring to become a biomedical equipment technician and the other to a student planning for a career as a clinical engineer. Potential candidates must be incoming or current full-time college students at a college or university accredited by one of six regional accrediting agencies or the equivalent. Typical programs would include degrees in biomedical equipment technology; electrical, mechanical, or clinical engineering; and physics or the health sciences.
To be considered, applicants must submit a short essay, two letters of recommendation, and their academic transcripts.
The scholarship program relies upon the generous support of contributors. To date, the program has raised more than $320,000—$180,000 short of its $500,000 goal. All donations are recognized in AAMI publications and on the AAMI Foundation website unless contributors refer to remain anonymous.
