Wanted: Volunteers to Advance the HTM Profession

If you want to make a difference in the healthcare technology management (HTM) field, here’s a prime opportunity.

Nominations are being accepted for openings on AAMI’s Technology Management Council (TMC), a 24-member AAMI committee that represents the interests of biomedical equipment technicians, clinical engineers, and other HTM professionals.

In 2013, the TMC will tackle issues ranging from benchmarking, access to service manuals and other ‘supportability’ issues, and the aging of the profession; to IT challenges, Joint Commission and other accreditation issues; and promotion of the HTM field to clinicians and the C-Suite.

New members will be chosen by the TMC’s Executive Committee, and admission criteria will include several factors such as professional diversity, participation in AAMI activities, and work experience.

AAMI members interested in serving a three-year term should send their resume to Patrick Bernat at pbernat@ aami.org by Feb. 15, 2013. For more information on the TMC, visit http://www.aami.org/tmc/index.html .
