‘Virtual’ Town Hall to Explore Professional Development: Expanding Your Skill Set
The 11th in a series of virtual and highly interactive town hall meetings from the CE-IT Community is scheduled for this Wednesday, October 10, at 12:00 Noon Eastern. You can register here for the complimentary 90-minute session, which will explore Professional Development: Expanding your Skill Set.
The October 10 virtual Town Hall will be moderated by Elliot Sloane, PhD, and will feature a presentation by JoAnn Klinedinst, Vice President of Professional Development at HIMSS.
The CE-IT Community is a collaboration among AAMI, ACCE, and HIMSS. Previous town halls have covered interoperability, medical device security, wireless issues, MDDS & IEC 80001, mHealth, connectivity with physiologic monitors, interoperability with the IHE profiles, collaboration case studies, human factors, and interoperability with clinical alarms.

Presentation Objectives:
- Describe the healthcare environment from a patient’s point of view.
- Outline the components of the health IT function.
- Explore new professional development resources in health IT; including training, continued education, and mentorship programs.
Through these town hall meetings, participants learn about and discuss timely issues related to medical technology networking and interoperability, risk management, and interdepartmental collaboration. Each session includes expert panelists who will discuss a particular hot topic, and will provide an opportunity for questions and discussion.
