‘Virtual’ Town Hall to Explore Human Factors and
Technology Convergence

The ninth in a series of virtual and highly interactive town hall meetings from the CE-IT Community is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 12:00 Noon Eastern. You can register here for the complimentary 90-minute session, which will explore how human factors issues relate to CE-IT convergence.

Izabella Gieras, Director of Clinical Technology at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, CA, will present the session, and Elliot Sloane will moderate.

The CE-IT Community is a collaboration among AAMI, ACCE, and HIMSS. Previous town halls have covered interoperability, medical device security, wireless issues, MDDS & IEC 80001, mHealth, connectivity with physiologic monitors, interoperability with the IHE profiles, and collaboration case studies.

Through these town hall meetings, participants learn about and discuss timely issues related to medical technology networking and interoperability, risk management, and interdepartmental collaboration. Each session includes expert panelists who will discuss a particular hot topic, and will provide an opportunity for questions and discussion.

Braeutigam of the Baylor Health Care System offered a case study on interdepartmental collaboration at his hospital system.
