Safety Institute Seeks Project Examples
The AAMI Foundation’s Healthcare Technology Safety Institute (HTSI) is seeking submissions from stakeholders on projects they have undertaken to improve infusion systems safety.
The top entries will be featured in a series of “Safety Innovations” articles. Another series of case studies profiling clinical alarm projects will be published later this spring. To participate, send a brief description of the project to Jill Williams at jwilliams@aami.org.
HTSI also launched a discussion group on LinkedIn, inviting comments and questions on hot topics such as infusion pumps and alarms. To join the group, visit www.linkedin.com, search for “Healthcare Technology Safety Institute (HTSI)” under the “Groups” header, and click on “Join Group.”
Group members can share best practices, suggestions, questions, and hear the latest activities from HTSI, which was created by the AAMI Foundation. The institute is already addressing infusion pump and alarms challenges, and plans to tackle small bore connectors in the future.
AAMI also has its own LinkedIn discussion group, “The AAMI Community.” For additional information on HTSI activities, visit www.aami.org/htsi/.
