AAMI Announces Opening Keynote Speaker For Annual Conference

Daniel Kraft, MD, will speak about how to leverage the latest in computer and mobile technology to improve healthcare during his opening keynote address at the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) 2012 Annual Conference & Expo, which will run June 2-4 in Charlotte, NC.

Kraft is the executive director of FutureMed, a healthcare research program at Singular University in Moffett Field, CA, and the founder and chief executive officer of IntelliMedicine, an East Palo Alto, CA-based company that develops personalized medical technology. He is also an officer and flight surgeon with the California Air National Guard.

The conference will also feature a keynote address from Robert Jesse, MD. Jesse is the principal deputy under secretary for health for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). He has been credited with making reforms in the delivery of specialty, subspecialty, and emergency care for the VA healthcare system.

Additionally, George Mills, a widely recognized expert with The Joint Commission (TJC), will return. Mills, director of the accreditation organization’s Engineering Department, will hold two back-to-back sessions, including a question-and-answer segment with conference attendees.

The conference will also feature more than 50 educational sessions on hot topics such as alarms management and electronic health record integration.

Attendees will also have the chance to interact with new technology in the Expo, where more than 150 exhibitors will show off their latest products.
