White Paper Available on Device Management
An organization wants public comments on a white paper created to offer a standards-based approach to medical device management.
The Patient Care Device (PCD) domain wants comments on the free white paper by October 12. The PCD, created by the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise, aims to address the integration of medical devices into the healthcare enterprise, from the point-of-care to the electronic health record (EHR).
While many devices are becoming networked, there are no common standards-based technologies relating to their management or maintenance. The intention of the white paper is to identify some of the current problems that exist and offer solutions.
