Refer A Colleague Celebrate National Biomedical/Clinical Engineering Appreciation Week
National Biomedical/Clinical Engineering Appreciation Week is on the horizon, and there are many ways to celebrate.
AAMI’s Technology Management Council (TMC) has launched a new web section — www.aami.org/tmcconnect/promoting.html — featuring helpful tools for biomeds to celebrate the week, which runs from May 10-16.
The tools include a sample letter that biomeds can send to state or local elected officials asking them to formally recognize the week and a sample news release to submit to local newspapers and other media outlets.
The site also features creative efforts that biomeds have undertaken in the past to publicize the week, including conducting open houses, visiting schools, and promoting their departments in employer newsletters.
The web page also includes a copy of the proclamation for easy download, as a well as a poster that biomeds can print or distribute at their facilities. AAMI members can also request large-size posters by e-mailing Patrick Bernat, AAMI director of healthcare technology management, at pbernat@aami.org. An editable version of the poster — which biomeds can customize with their own photos and information — is also available on the AAMI website.
