KFYR-TV, the local NBC affiliate in Bismarck, ND, recently aired a segment on its evening news discussing the critical work of biomedical equipment technicians at a couple of North Dakota hospitals. The biomeds represented St. Alexius Hospital and Medcenter One.

A newscaster from the NBC affiliate introduced the segment stating that “heart monitors, IV pumps, and ventilators all need regular maintenance so they won’t break down…who takes care of it all?”

The segment’s news correspondent takes viewers into the biomed shop of each of the two facilities, where biomeds explain how they maintain and repair equipment.
