Expert Sought for Self-Assessment Project

AAMI is issuing a call for proposals to hire a Subject Matter Expert who will assist with the development of a new online self-assessment tool. The tool will be used to help clinical engineering departments and contractors at healthcare facilities evaluate their performance, procedures, and policies in a standardized manner.

The first phase of a benchmarking project was conducted by ECRI Institute in early 2007. The project evaluated and concluded that benchmarking is both desirable and feasible.

During Phase 2 of this project, a Subject Matter Expert will be responsible for identifying and developing customer satisfaction measures, clinical engineering best practice measures, and hospital and respondent demographic questions to be included in a self-assessment tool in which respondents will input their data to assess their performance. The Subject Matter Expert will work closely with a vendor that maintains the self-assessment tool to create and improve upon this database.
