Compatibility of Materials Subject to Sterilization: AAMI TIR 17:2008
AAMI is pleased to offer a new webinar CD that examines the guidance that is included in the new technical information report (TIR) on the Compatibility of Materials Subject to Sterilization. During this two-hour program, speakers will provide guidance on the qualification of polymeric materials, ceramics, and metals in health care products that are sterilized by Radiation, Ethylene Oxide, Moist Heat (Steam), Dry Heat, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Ozone.
The webinar also offers suggestions on how to improve the quality and reduce the costs and time required for performing material qualifications. Areas to be discussed are expeditious selection of materials, prudent processing of those materials, testing of any specific properties essential to the intended function of the product, and accelerated aging programs.
Those charged with the responsibility for the development, validation, and routine control of a sterilization process can’t afford to miss this program!
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
The program reviews the changes between the 1997 and 2008 versions of AAMI TIR17 and provides a thorough overview of the compatibility of materials with six sterilization modalities. Participants have an opportunity to hear from a the co-chairs that developed the technical information report. At the conclusion of the program, you will gain knowledge that will assist in the selection, qualification, and accelerated aging of materials subject to terminal sterilization.
