Steam Sterilization in Health Care Facilities: A Detailed Review of ANSI/AAMI ST79:2006 and Amendments

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Over the course of five webinars, expert speakers provide an overview of ANSI/AAMI ST79 and address major segments of the document in considerable detail. While not only providing a review of the recommendations, speakers provide practical guidance on implementing them. Program content includes a review of the 2008 amendments to the document and preview of the upcoming amendments. In the Overview and Quality Control sessions, participants have an opportunity to hear directly from the co-chairs of the AAMI Steam Sterilization Hospital Practices Working Group. During the other sessions, members of the AAMI Steam Sterilization Hospital Practices Working Group discuss personnel and design considerations; decontamination; preparation, packaging, and sterilization; and quality control. By the conclusion of the program, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of AAMI’s recommendations for steam sterilization in health care facilities.
