Immediate-Use Steam Sterilization (IUSS)
As the result of the Joint Commission “Update: The Joint Commission’s Position on Steam Sterilization” published in July 2009, a group of professional organizations and standards bodies met to develop a multi-society position paper to clear up information related to flash sterilization. This position paper entitled “Immediate-Use Steam Sterilization” describes the new name for “Flash Sterilization” and the important steps that should be followed to ensure that medical devices processed by this method are safe for the patient. This webinar discusses the multi-society position paper and the important processing steps that need to be followed.
