Microbiology for Medical Device Manufacturing and Sterilization
This webinar addresses concepts of microbiology as applied to sterilization and problem solving microbial contamination issues for medical devices. These concepts apply for microbiologists, engineers, quality departments, laboratories, regulators and manufacturers of medical devices. The concepts relate especially to anyone involved in manufacturing, testing, sterilization or approval of medical devices. Gregg Mosley of Biotest Laboratories, Inc. shares his expertise on biological evaluation of devices.
Mr. Mosley provides an overview of the microbiology related to manufacturing of medical devices, including the testing strategies, sample selection, and test methods recommended in various domestic and international standards; ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11737-1, 11137: 2006 series, 11135-1 & 2 and 17665. Mr. Mosley has been an active leader in developing and revising standards for over 30 years and has numerous publications referenced in ISO standards and technical specifications. He provides perspectives as an author and expert on standards, as well as one who uses standards and consults with many clients on the use of and compliance to standards.
