About San Jose

San Pedro Square Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, San Jose is a major center for technology and innovation, and a fitting venue for the AAMI 2008 conference. It is easily accessible — the convention center is only four miles from San Jose International Airport (SJC), and only 36 miles from San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

With more than 300 days of sunshine on average per year, the city is a great place for outdoor activities or for just taking a walk. And, you won’t have to walk far. Within 8 blocks of the convention center, you’ll find more than 100 restaurants and clubs, and more than a dozen museums and theaters.

Trolley You can walk to the SoFA District, a concentrated five block area of nightclubs, restaurants, art galleries and theaters. Or, check out the San Pedro Square District, the historic area of the city, which offers a mix of outdoor dining and nightlife options. If you have some extra time before or after the conference, you can even take a day trip into nearby San Francisco.
