Drug Library Management: Device Issues
Safety Issues:
- Gap between pump requirements and hospital capabilities
- Steep learning curve for configuration and management of libraries
- Difficulty in managing the same drug in multiple units and in multiple ways
Work Item Expectation:
- Liaison with ASHP representative for coordination
- Determine the requirements / items in place to address Problem Statement and propose solutions including possible standards/ regulations
- This is a socio-technical issue, and needs to be addressed collaboratively between provider organizations, manufacturers, and third parties
