Scholarship

How Scholarships are Awarded

1.
The AAMI Foundation through its Awards Subcommittee awards two scholarships each year — one to a biomedical equipment technician student and another to a clinical engineering student.
2.
A one-time lump sum check of $2,500 will be awarded to each scholarship award recipient for tuition, fees, and books. (The Awards Subcommittee may choose to adjust the scholarship award amount or the number of scholarships accordingly, based on the status of the scholarship fund.)
3.
Scholarship recipients are asked to provide proof of course registration before the check is granted to the award recipient.
4.
Recipients will be selected by the AAMI Awards Subcommittee, whose decisions are final. Deliberations of the AAMI Awards Subcommittee will be confidential.
5.
Scholarship recipients will be notified in writing.
6.
Scholarship recipients will be announced in AAMI publications and on AAMI’s website — www.aami.org.
7.
If a scholarship award recipient drops out of college, is removed from college, or moves out of the clinical engineering program, the award recipient is required to return his or her scholarship award funding to AAMI.
8.
Applicants are eligible to apply and receive a scholarship in successive years.
9.
The Michael J. Miller Scholarship is awarded without regard to race, color, ancestry, sex, religion, age, handicap or veteran status.
