Certification Leadership
The
International Certification Commission (ICC)
The purpose of The International Certification Commission shall
be to serve the healthcare community relative to the certification
of clinical engineers, biomedical equipment technicians, and other
related professions. The ICC shall formulate general policies on
certification; advise national commissions and examining boards
in matters of certification; grant certification upon review of
the Board of Examiners and national commissions recommendation in
each discipline; and assist the education community in developing
a body of knowledge relevant to continuing education and fundamental

The U.S. Certification Commission (USCC)
The US Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical
Technology is a commission organized under the auspices of the AAMI
Foundation. The purpose of the USCC is to serve the public welfare
and the health care community by certifying the knowledge base of
clinical engineers, biomedical equipment technicians, and other

The US BMET Board of Examiners
The US Board of Examiners for Biomedical Equipment Technicians
role is to maintain and promote a credible process for the certification
of Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETS) that defines a level
of competency that is both recognized and understood as an essential
component of efficient and quality healthcare delivery systems. Link to Roster
The Secretariat
The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation
(AAMI) assists ICC/USCC by performing and handling the administrative
tasks such as processing renewals, maintaining correspondence and
documents for meetings and other records required by law.
