About AAMI Awards
AAMI welcomes nominations for awards to be presented each year at its Annual Conference & Expo. The deadline for this year's award applications is March 15, 2012.

- AAMI Foundation Laufman-Greatbatch Prize — First awarded in 1975 and named for Harold Laufman, MD and Wilson Greatbatch, Ph.D., two of the most renowned leaders and pioneers in the medical device field, the AAMI Foundation Laufman-Greatbatch Prize honors an individual or group that has made a unique and significant contribution to the advancement of medical instrumentation, service, patient care, or patient safety.
- AAMI Foundation/ACCE Robert L. Morris Humanitarian Award — In honor of Robert Morris, this award has been created to recognize individuals whose humanitarian efforts have applied healthcare technology to improving global human conditions.
- AAMI Foundation/Institute for Technology in Health Care Clinical Application Award — This award is given to an individual (CE, BMET, physician, nurse, hospital administrator, etc.) or group that has applied innovative clinical engineering practices or principles in order to solve one or more significant clinical patient care problems or challenges facing a patient population, community, or group.

- AAMI/BD Professional Achievement Award — identifies and encourages outstanding achievement(s) by an emerging health care professional generally at the beginning or middle of his/her career in the development or improvement of medical devices, instruments, or systems that will help all people live healthy lives.
- AAMI Clinical/Biomedical Engineering Achievement Award —recognizes individual excellence and achievement in the clinical and biomedical engineering fields. In any year, the award may be given to either a clinical or biomedical engineer.
- AAMI/GE Healthcare BMET of the Year Award — given to a biomedical equipment technician to recognize individual dedication, achievement, and excellence in the field of biomedical equipment technology.

- Standards Developer Award - Awarded for major contribution(s) to the development or revision of a specific standard.
- AAMI Technical Committee Award - Awarded to an AAMI technical committee to recognize outstanding Committee efforts.

BI&T AWARDS - click the following links for more information.
- BI&T Outstanding Paper Awards - Awards are given to the outstanding Management & Technology paper and Instrumentation Research paper published in each annual volume of Biomedical Instrumentation & Technology.
