Who Can Submit a Session Proposal?

  • Proposals may be submitted by individuals or groups working in or serving the health technology field. AAMI membership is not required to submit a proposal or to present at the AAMI Exchange.
  • You have the option of submitting your proposal as an individual or as a team. Team members do not necessarily have to be employed by the same organization or institution.
  • To encourage diversity and multiple perspectives on a topic, AAMI welcomes submissions from teams of up to four individuals throughout the healthcare profession.
  • One member of each team should be designated as the primary contact with AAMI. This primary contact should submit the proposal, include his/her own contact information, and must list the other team members under the field for "Proposed Additional Presenters."
  • If your proposal is selected, all presenters must be able to present in person at the conference. The use of WebEx, or other virtual conference meeting tools, will not be permitted.

NOTE: Travel expenses to attend the conference and any related costs of developing the presentation are the responsibility of the speaker. Presenters will receive full complimentary registration.

Submission Criteria

All submissions are reviewed by members of AAMI's Exchange Program Committee. Reviewers will use the following criteria to select the most appropriate submissions for inclusion in the AAMI Exchange 2019.

  • Timeliness and Originality
Proposals will be evaluated on the timeliness and innovation of the program or service, and significance to the health technology professional.
  • Educational Presentation
All presentation proposals must be educational in nature. Proposals that are written in a manner that promotes a product, company, or service, will not be considered for acceptance.
  • Educational Formats
There are several educational formats available to accommodate a variety of teaching styles and learning preferences. AAMI strongly encourages speakers to provide opportunities for attendees to ask questions, discuss problems and solutions, and to interact informally with the faculty and with each other.
  • Balance
Descriptions must be written in a manner that clearly, concisely, and logically conveys the subject matter's background, purpose, and learning objectives.
